Blame February

Okay, it is currently March 12th as I’m typing this and I know I was meant to write a story for each month so this does look bad but, I feel like I can blame February as the month was so short. So, you know what? I’m giving myself a pass for this and counting this article as having been written in February. Anyway let’s try to think of something to write about.

Scheduling

This probably should and could be a story on its own but, I’d like to talk a bit about scheduling and how I have benefited from having a schedule.
I feel like as a person you just know if you’re the type of person that needs a schedule or doesn’t need one. I feel like the person that needs to have a schedule. It just works for me. I NEED it. I’ve been using it for nearly 2 weeks now and I feel so much more productive and weirdly have much more free time. I may go into what my lockdown schedule looks given we are currently in full lockdown which means no gym and WFH. This is just my initial thoughts on it so far.

More Free Time

Yes weirdly enough, one of the best things about having a schedule I feel like I’ve got more free time now. By carving out hours of my day for time to do whatever this has made me realise it’s easier for me to block out maybe 1–2 hour slots twice a day. This way I don’t feel guilty about not doing anything at this time or even if I just spend it watching TV shows.

Doing Things I’ve Been Wanting To Do

Reading, Coding, Writing (*cough *cough) and exercising. My schedule is helping me to do all these tasks daily and I still have free time to do whatever I want. Also, completing these tasks daily gives me a great fulfilment that I’ve made use of my day. In comparison, I used constantly feel like crap for not being productive. Now, there's great satisfaction when I go to bed knowing I've done something with my day. It's been as easy as reading for 30 mins, coding for an hour and doing any form of exercise for 30 mins. I'll tell myself it's better than nothing at least. What's the old saying, "No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch". This is how I feel about sticking with my schedule. Even if it's for 10 mins, it's better than doing nothing.
